Salmon Fishing Courses
'Learn to Salmon Fish' Courses
SalmonQuest's 'Learn to Salmon Fish' courses are based on the River Alness, a beautiful highland salmon river running from Loch Morie to the Cromarty Firth, just 20 miles north of Inverness.
The courses are generally run between August and October, prime months on the Alness ensuring that there will be resident salmon and fresh-run fish in the river.
These courses take place on the private Novar Fishings beats. The beats rotate daily ensuring that you will see a variety of scenery and optimise the opportunity to catch your first salmon. In addition to instruction on the river, there will also be talks on various aspects of salmon fishing. Tuition will given by a professional game angling instructor, assisted at times by an experienced local ghillie.
Two 'First Salmon'!
Each course is limited to just 4 anglers, ensuring plenty of personal attention coupled with expert local knowledge. The formal course is 3 days in duration, but for those wishing to extend their visit, additional days of unguided salmon fishing are likely to be available.
All transportation to and from the river can be provided during your stay, and if you would prefer to travel here by rail or air, we may be able to offer an optional pick-up and drop-off service from Inverness.
